getting to the conference
Our conference takes place in the towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg on the rugged Mendocino Coast. While the area’s remoteness is a big part of its charm, it does mean that getting here is a little more complicated compared to when traveling to major urban centers.
We recommend flying into San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), or Sacramento (SMF)—all roughly 3.5 hours away—or Santa Rosa airport (STS), around 2.5 hours away.
Once you’ve landed
Car rentals are available all airports.
It is possible to take public transportation from SFO, OAK, STS, or SFM airport to Mendocino or Fort Bragg. For the most updated route appropriate for your needs, we advise that participants use the public transportation search function of Google Maps. Be advised that these routes will take several hours and require multiple transfers, and that if you take public transportation, you will need to walk or otherwise organize a ride from the bus stop nearest your accommodation in Fort Bragg or Mendocino to your final destination. Another helpful resource for planning public transportation journeys is the Connections page of the Mendocino Transit Authority.
The Mendocino Transit Authority provides bus service in the towns of Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Please be advised that this service is available on weekdays only. The Boatyard bus stop in Fort Bragg referred to on the MTA website is located at 176 Boatyard Drive, Fort Bragg, CA 95437.
DURING THE CONFERENCE
Many of the venues are within walking distance of each other, with the exception of Saturday night’s venue. We recommend coordinating with other participants for ride sharing. Uber, Lyft and other similar services do not operate on the Mendocino Coast, but there are a small number of local taxi services. For more location details about our venues, visit our Location and Schedule page.
We will circulate a list of participants seeking rides and participants willing to provide them in the weeks before the conference and at the conference itself to facilitate ride-sharing. If you have questions about this, please reach out to us.
