Donations from Friends of Mendocino Coast Writers Conference provide MCWC Scholarship Grants for writers of all ages. Awards are made on the basis of merit and need. Typically MCWC Scholarship Grants provide partial support to several applicants, but full fees for one writer could be paid in exceptional circumstances. This scholarship is for conference fees only; travel and lodging expenses are not covered.

How to Apply for a MCWC Scholarship Grant
Put together an application packet that includes:
  • A completed conference registration form.
  • A letter explaining your financial need, along with the names and phone numbers of two personal references.
  • A writing sample (up to ten pages, double-spaced, 12 pt. type) in any prose genre, or up to five poems.
Mail your application packet by May 15 to:

Selections will be made and winners notified by May 31.
