Contest

Financial Aid



Rules:

  • Upon receipt of your registration fees you will be sent a contest entry form as part of your acceptance package.
  • Only one entry per registrant is accepted. Previous first prize contest winners may not enter.
  • Entries must be postmarked on or before June 9, 2009 to be considered.

Categories:

First Prize in each category: $50 and publication in Todd Point Review.
  • Poetry: 3-5 poems
  • Short Fiction: one short story up to 2500 words
  • Novel: an excerpt of up to 2500 words
  • Creative Non-Fiction: essay, article or book excerpt up to 2500 words

Fellowships:

All submissions to the MCWC Writing Contest will be considered for Conference Fellowships.
Fellowship winners will have their conference fees returned and their submission published in Todd Point Review.
  • Short Fiction Fellowship in memory of Estelle Frank: The winner of the short fiction contest receives this award.
  • Literature of Social Change in memory of Ellen Meloy: Contest entries in any genre relating to social change will be considered for this award.
  • Carmen Gabriela Etcheberry-Freund Memorial Fellowship for excellence in writing: All entries by College of the Redwoods students in any genre are considered.
